Something fun is finally entering my life through school! This is such an odd note that it demands being shared with the universe at large.
I'm pairing up with someone in my class to do a webpage for teenagers on vampire stuff. And it's actually someone who likes all the strange trashy kinds of novel that I like, and who isn't very judgemental about what teenagers should read. This is eminently cool. Now I'm racking my brains trying to remember every vampire novel I ever read, and whether I think teenagers would like it if they weren't weirdos like me.
Latest vampire novels were: The Good, the Bad, and the Undead. and Vamped. All time favorite: currently McKinley's Sunshine. What a book.
In general, I couldn't be happier this weekend, which is nice because I've been sort of in the doldrums ever since the holidays, as I continue that ongoing struggle to adjust to adulthood.
"What?!" I keep saying, "you mean I must file paperwork, make travel plans, clean the darned kitchen, do laundry, *and* pursue meaning and love in life? I thought there were elves to do that, tall people called parents!" Not that my mom cooked me dinner or did my laundry very often, but there's that comforting feeling that someone else is responsible for the big picture and you're free to keep doing your little thing here in the bottom corner, peeling birch bark off trees, sucking honey off a spoon, and in general keeping yourself entertained.
Still reeling from the shock that it just ain't so.
