My happy new playlist
Jan. 22nd, 2006 09:51 pmOk, I know this sounds really fuddy-duddy, but I totally respect copyright of music. I don't actually do the whole downloads thing, since I don't have an ipod, and a lot of the for-pay sites don't let you make CDs, so what good would all that music be fore the hour a day I'm at my computer?
But I just made a mix of songs I do have on CD for my writing life. As far as I understand it, making a list just for you to listen to of music you own and paid for on CD is ok, as long as you're not disseminating the files. It makes me very happy. It's all about girls who kick butt, bad relationships, and broody goth/punk music. It will be the soundtrack to my story about a girl who's trying not to hang with her magic working family and how she gets sucked into this investigation of a weird island all full of vamps and werewolves and so forth.
And I'm proud to be one of the few people who own a copy of Maggie Estep's "No More Mr. Nice Girl"!, so I have a genuine copy of "Ingeborg, Mistress of the Dark!"
