Well, I finished my presentation on "blogs" for my Library Web Design class. I felt silly presenting, since I know so little about blog world, but it turns out I've got a little more background than the average class background, and I worked hard, so that's ok.
Oooh! And I made my first ever CSS thingy! A real cascading style sheet! Not very fancy, but I'm pleased as punch.
I should have listened to my friend Karl K. back in 1996 when he was going on and on ad nauseam about how great they were. Though I don't know if I would have thought they were so great in 1996, it sounds like the support and functionality have really improved in the last decade.
Anyway, here's the site I made for my presentation: http://leep.lis.uiuc.edu/publish/vweil/VWeilTechBlogsPg1.html
So that's good.
In other news, I read a new vampire/werewolf book today by Keri Arthur (really excellent! a bit on the spicy side as far as sexuality goes, but not mean spiritedly. a good plot not overshadowed by the sexy bits. lots of really creative creatures and fearsome fight scenes and betrayals and double crosses and stuff. I loooooved it!) keri also seems to have a cool webpage, blog, et al... http://keriarthur.blogspot.com/
And I finished a great book yesterday, "A Year in the Life of William Shakespear, 1599". I enjoyed it a lot. Social history on a lit-crit framework. Very enjoyable, learned some new things. Like the origin of the phrase "the writing on the wall". It renewed my plan to read Shakespeare out loud with J. It was his idea. We're going to start this summer and read all the plays out loud to each other. It'll be fun, and keep us out of trouble.
