Richard Thompson
Sep. 30th, 2006 10:11 pmI got to see Richard Thompson today at the Summit Brew Festival. *sigh* *fangirl squeals* Richard Thompson is the guitar god of all guitar gods. And he sings so expressively, and twitches his eyebrows so sardonically, and writes so beautifully.
Ahh, it was good. He played many songs that were new to me, including "Valerie" and "I've got the hots for smarts" (<- unsure if this is really the title). And he played "Vincent Black Lightening, 1952" and "Crawl Back Under My Stone" and "I Feel So Good" and a ton of favorites. And I realized with a moment of terror that some day there won't be any more Richard Thompson. What a horrible thought. But for now, ahhh, the goodness that is Richard Thompson. And we bought a new live CD by him from the vendor's table. And we're listening to that now.
Richard Thompson, how we adore you! Yayayay!
Ok, that's enough of that. Forcibly stopping my incoherent joy now. Ta.
