Volunteering stuffs
Nov. 3rd, 2006 11:19 amOk, so it took forever to drag myself out of bed today, and another forever to finish up "morning procrastination" of the eat-breakfast-read-nonfiction-newspaper-internet-stare-at-wall" variety.
But I am now, hopefully, off to go do some book repair, and then drop the repaired book off at my place of employment.
hee. I like to think of myself as a little book-gnome version of the shoemaker and the elves, whisking away damaged books overnight (though it takes me much longer than overnight to get to them) and returning them to the shelves all tidy and clean and fixed.
It makes me very happy, because it's so simple and straightforward. Once you have the archival materials and you've committed to repairing a certain book that is.
