I love me some Project Gutenberg.  Yes, yes!  Please do give me the text of the works of Beaumont and Fletcher, because, umm, they're a pain to find at the bookstore unless your bookstore is real into grad. level classes on English Lit.

And I'm working on getting the 1600s lingo and rhythm a bit clearer in my head.  Basically, they sound like really smart, somewhat drunk frat boys with big hearts and a bit of a lisp.

At least, that's the impression I'm gettings so far.

Oh, and the couple of stanzas of more-or-less blank verse I wrote as play script for the novel?  The next day, i totally realized I had cribbed them from "The Lady's Not For Burning".  Sigh.  At least I unconsciously crib from good sources.  Now there's a *fabulous* play.  There's a movie you can rent with Kenneth Branagh as Thomas Mendip, but the other three main lovers are a bit outclassed by Mr. Branagh - they all sound like they're trying to work the language, and Branagh manages to make it roll right off the tongue.  Though you can tell even he's really working at it.

Things I love tonight:  The Prisoner of Zenda, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Three Musketeers, The Princess Bride, Tori Amos, Christopher Fry, courtesans, and the Scribblies.  Yay for books with swashbucklery!
