I'm at PLA now, doing a pre-session-attendance survey of the space and the rooms and things. In the press of conference-attendance sometimes if you don't know EXACTLY where you want to end up, there's just so much along the way that you never make it.
Also I plan to do my main pass on the Exhibits hall today, when it will be all fresh and shiny and "Grand Opening" ish, as I'm going to try to make at least one program in every offered session block on Friday and Saturday (I can't come on Thursday, unless I want to get up at VERY EARLY, then rush here, then rush home, then rush to be at work by 12:45. I'm not sure that's worth it.).
Now that I've got the official schedule, I can go through the Table Talk listings and see if I want to ditch a session or two for a table talk. Then I need to annotate my schedule and figure out where I should theoretically be. There's not a lot of time between sessions.
I've been to PLA before (once) and ALA (once), but this is my first time attending as a titled Librarian, where what I'm learning is for more than networking/enrichment purposes, so I'm not sure if that will change the experience. Before I just went to whatever interested me or things presented by folks I wanted to meet.
