When you don't have anything nice to say
Jul. 31st, 2008 10:22 am I've been under radio silence lately because I seem to be deep in one of my contrarian intellectualist moods, and these are best not shared with the internet.
They are not crunchy, they do not taste good with ketchup.
So I've been holing up re-reading Jennifer Michael Hecht's "Doubt: A History", which I often do in times of mental stress.
Patricia Briggs's new book "Cry Wolf" was engagingly written and I spent a pleasant few hours reading it in the sun yesterday. I was curious about John Ringo's "Ghost" after reading those "Oh, John Ringo, No" posts. When I was done I couldn't figure out why the response except that perhaps it was set now and not past/future, as "Bio of a Space Tyrant" by Piers Anthony was about a 1000 times more disturbing. Now I'm veering perilously close that contrarianism I've been avoiding. Gonna shut up now. Hope you're all having a good day.
