Sigh. I went to do something that I thought would be at least theoretically straightforward today.
I wanted to do some color stuff for a group website project I was working on.
But apparently the stuff I learned to do, yes back in 1996, was VERY BAD even then.
Adjusting colors with the font attribute is bad bad bad. *sigh* I didn't know this.
Now I will have to pay for *ahem* ten years of avoidance by learning the rudiments of cascading style sheets in the next month.
Those of you who think this is my just comeuppance (you know who you are, and I'm watching you) will note that if I hadn't been so irritable about the whole thing I would have learned this stuff back in 1997 and be feeling a sense of well rested smugness right now rather than ennui and angst.
Well. I didn't and I don't. But eventually, when the light breaks, yadda yadda. Grr.
Stupid vampire website. Stupid me who doesn't like learning tech stuff. and is going to school online. If I were in a nice on-campus school right now I could just use MARKERS to make my text pretty colors. and cut pictures out of magazines to create by background images.
And I would. Low tech is alwaysalways more fun. double-sigh.
