Books on the shelf
Dec. 10th, 2006 03:13 pmHas anyone reading this read either of these two books?
I have just finished them and would love to discuss them with someone.
1. Killing Monsters: why children need fantasy, super heroes, and make-believe violence by Gerard Jones
2. Harmful to Minors: the perils of protecting children from sex by Judith Levine.
I wrote a prof. to ask them for advice of anyone I could talk the books over with as well. They feel so important to my professional mission of working with books and youth, and so close to my own viewpoints, but so far from any voice I've heard in the profession itself.
