The silly people

My silly characters are going to have coffee now.

I have been having so much trouble actually writing. Like, ever.

Here's something I do sometimes: when the writing gets slow, I just imagine there's a dead body lying there.

It doesn't have to be a real dead body, or something the characters actually notice. I just say to myself, "Self, over behind that second table to the left in the coffeeshop, an invisible corpse is decomposing."

I don't know why, but it helps me get on with the plot.
