Snow again
Dec. 6th, 2007 11:47 amI actually felt safer driving DURING the snowstorm than I feel driving on merely-snowy roads. Reason: while it's actually, y'know, snowing, most cars agree to go slow. When the road merely has snowy spots, all cars seem to feel they must return to their typical 5 miles/hr OVER the speed limit speed.
*grr* This is just fine while the car is going straight in the cleared middle of the lane. But I passed at least one car yesterday that was in an accident because it did this while turning, and hit the slippery snowy bits at the edge of the lane and lost control. There were two cop cars and an ambulance on scene. I have a radical case of distrust towards my fellow road-users.
That is all. At least leaving super early for work this week has caused me to get some work done on the ugly novel for the first time in weeks.
