Stupid character traits of mine
Sep. 13th, 2008 06:12 pmI really love naming things.
The writerly leftover of thinking Taliesin was the coolest dude ever when he wanked on about having been a word on a page.
Or, less poetically, my misspent youth playing AD&D 2nd Ed., of which the part I liked best was the part where you filled in the character sheets.
So I've got:
Meg Mabry
Randal Stephen
Brock Husman
Nikki Codell
Kris Paige
To unpack the kind of geek I am:
Randal as a nod to not one but two ballads: as a variant of the name in the Reynardine ballad, and Lord Randal
Brock as a name-usable play on broc for badger.
Kris and Paige both to subtly suggest hermaphroditism (Kris being an ungendered nickname and Paige being a girl's first name and a last name whose etymology is masculine, like Page and stuff).
