So at work, we have a cart of books to shelve. And I generally shelve the Spanish language books last, because it's a bit slower per book for me to shelve in Spanish (don't parse the letter order as quickly, so slower alphabetizing).
And since some days the whole cart doesn't get finished by the PM, more often than statistically random this means the Spanish language books didn't get reshelved.
And this effect, writ bigger, is the whole institutionalized racism thing, isn't it? I mean, a part of it: lots of people with no overt racist agenda putting the things that are harder to do to the bottom of always-over-crowded agendas, and letting them drop off the bottom. So my small promise to myself: from now on, Spanish language books get shelved first, just to remind me not to get too that way.
