Switching research gears
Sep. 1st, 2008 09:57 amAs I switch research projects from the not-really-historical to Superhero Girl, I've gotta start researching tech. One of the things that came up at the Fourth Street Convention was that non-tech people (which at this point I sure qualify as) tend to get tech flagrantly wrong in writing SF.
I see Superhero Girl's family as working for a gov't defense agency, something along the lines of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Homeland Security or whatever. So I need to start getting up to date on what kind of tech her parents would have that she'd be stealing from them in her quest to find the supervillain. And what kind of anti-surveillance tech the supervillain would have.
Any suggestions of books, magazines, websites, blogs etc to read are very welcome.
