writing, fairy tales, wankage
Sep. 23rd, 2010 08:34 pmSo, on and off this year I've been trying my hand at rewriting fairy tales from Grimm. How hard can this be? I thought. Tons of people do this, I thought.
I haven't even finished a rewrite of the first story in my Jack Zipes edition of Grimm. The Frog Prince. I think it's a creepy, detestable little story as an adult. I don't recall ever liking it as a child.
Every time I try to rewrite it it turns into very odd, dreamlike slashfic between the prince's faithful servant and the princess's father.
Clearly, I do not have a fairy tale soul.
